We are so excited to share the news about Leena Lehtolainen’s big success in Scandinavia. Last week Leena Lehtolainen visited Sweden in order to promote her latest Maria Kallio book Where Have All the Young Girls Gone? (Minne tytöt kadonneet, Tammi 2010) which has been published by Bazar in Sweden, Denmark and Norway in Fall 2012.
This 11th installment in the Maria Kallio series is an engrossing exploration of the collision between tradition and the new multicultural Europe. The book takes Maria Kallio onto a journey to a world where daily life is defined by ancient beliefs and deeply ingrained, habitual perceptions.
Swedish readers, bloggers and critics fell in love with Var Är Alla Flickor Nu? and are waiting impatiently for more titles. Bazar Förlag is Lehtolainen’s new Swedish publisher, while this is already the 6th title by Leena Lehtolainen published in Swedish. During her visit to Sweden, Lehtolainen gave interviews to several major newspapers, such as Dagens Nyheter, which praises the book as a captivating and entertaining one in its review. Leena Lehtolainen also met with readers such as the popular blogger of Läsa&Lyssna.
