We are thrilled to share that INHERITED LAND by Maria Turtschaninoff has been nominated for the European Literature Prize, which will be awarded to the best contemporary European novel published in Dutch translation. The award ceremony will take place at the beginning of November at Crossing Border in The Hague.
This year’s jury consists of writer Niña Weijers (chairman), booksellers Ronnie Terpstra (bookstore Van der Velde) and Astrid Bamberg (bookstore Hijman Ongerijmd), author and reviewer Ilse Josepha Lazaroms and Karina van Santen, the translator of last year’s winning book.
From the longlist of fourteen authors, a short list and a winner shall be chosen on June 26th and early September respectively.

INHERITED LAND, which has already won multiple awards, has now sold to 22 languages, but rights are still available in Spain, Greece, Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Iceland, Portugal…
