We are thrilled to announce that the Turkish rights to Time’s Up, Ricky Rapper (1997), Ricky Rapper and the Horrible Sausage (1998), Ricky Rapper and the Noodlehead (2000) and Ricky Rapper and Freezer Fran (2001) have been acquired by Altin Kitaplar. The books are part of the praised Ricky Rapper children’s book series written by Sinikka Nopola and Tiina Nopola. Altin Kitaplar plans to launch all four titles in 2012. This deal makes Turkey the 9th Ricky Rapper territory, including Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Hungary, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden and Turkey.
The most recent title, Ricky Rapper Gets a Dad, was Finland’s bestselling children’s book in 2011, making Ricky the undisputed Number 1 children’s book character in Finland.
In Fall 2012 Ricky’s adventures continue with the upcoming title Ricky Rapper and Nelly’s Secret. This 12th Ricky Rapper title created an amazing buzz at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and we are excited to submit it soon!
The movie Ricky Rapper and Cool Wendy (Risto Räppääjä ja viileä Venla) which came into movie theaters in February 2012 was a huge success in Finland. For five weeks the movie was the Number 1 in the Finnish movie charts and in total the movie was for four months in the Finnish Top 10 movie charts.
