Riina and Sami Kaarla

Riina Kaarla is a passionate author-illustrator and a creative dynamo, whose internationally published books are especially beloved for their true-to-life and vivid characters.

Sami Kaarla has worked as a professional writer-illustrator for more than a decade. He has written and illustrated dozens of internationally renowned books. He writes and illustrates the YA Nordic Horror series, the Pet Friends and Pet Agents series, and Moomin  books based on Tove Jansson’s beloved characters, with his wife, Riina. Still, he finds time for his four sons, four cats, and two dogs who inspire him every day.
